Dr. Ashley Sanchez is an award-winning English teacher, teacher educator, and scholar committed to humanizing education and preparing future teachers to honor the agency, brilliance, and lived experiences of young people. With over a decade of experience spanning PS–12 classrooms, district-level leadership, and higher education, she brings both practical expertise and scholarly insight to her work.

She holds a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Educational Leadership & Policy from the University of Arizona, along with a Master of Arts in Education: Curriculum & Instruction, an English Language Arts teaching credential, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language & Literature. Her professional background includes serving as a middle school English teacher, district curriculum specialist, and college instructor.

Dr. Sanchez’s teaching and research focus on social justice education, critical pedagogy, and the transformative potential of teacher preparation rooted in love, dialogue, and reflection. A proud first-generation college graduate, she is especially dedicated to supporting first-generation students and emerging educators as they cultivate inclusive, student-centered practices that affirm the dignity of every learner.
